“Gold“ Review
This was more of a live gig than a musical play – but was thoroughly enjoyable all the same.
Five university friends get back together to reunite their 1980s band Stained Silence for a friend's wedding party. The band members ruminate about success, failure and the passing of time.
But the show is really about the music. The first half is a bit sluggish as the band members rehearse, getting to grips with playing together again after so long apart,.
But the second half is brilliant, with two great sets of eighties hits, and there are some great lines. Gala Director Simon Stallworthy wrote and directed Gold and it is very funny.
Joe Fisher was hilarious as drummer and narrator Nick.
